The Student Co-op is located between the Cook and Douglass Campuses at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. It is a non-profit, shareholder-owned store started in 1939 by the students of the New Jersey College for Women, now Douglass residential College. In 1978 students from the newly created Cook College, now School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, were invited to become shareholders. Membership is optional and now open to all Rutgers University students, faculty, staff and administrators.
